What you need for your India eVisa application
- A passport valid for six months after arrival, with two blank pages
- A recent photo on a plain white background, without glasses (photo requirements)
- Your travel dates and the airport or seaport where you’ll land
- An email address you check often: your ETA is sent there

The authorities decide most applications within 72 hours. So apply at least four days before you arrive; two to four weeks ahead leaves time to fix a photo or a document if the authorities ask. More in our guide to India eVisa processing time.
Is this the official government website?
No. India eVisa Gate is a private, independent assistance service. We review your application and then submit it for you. You can also apply directly on the Indian government’s e-Visa portal.
Which visa should I choose?
The e-Tourist Visa covers holidays, family visits and short courses. If your trip includes meetings, trade fairs or other business, choose the e-Business Visa, which also allows sightseeing.
What happens if I make a mistake in my India eVisa application?

Can I enter India several times?
Yes. Both the e-Tourist Visa and the e-Business Visa allow multiple entries during their validity. However, the limits on length of stay still apply.
